SpencerManor Winery in beautiful Saint James, MO is looking for a Prep Cook. We arelooking for an ambitious Prep Cook to assist in the preparation of deliciousdishes in the kitchen. You’ll perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting upworkstations and preparing ingredients, so that food can be prepared accordingto recipes. A great prep cook will be quick and diligent and willing to improveon the job. You will be deft and able to follow instructions as well as allhealth and safety rules in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will also be ableto function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team. Must befriendly, punctual, and a team player. Restaurant experience preferred but notrequired. We are a fast paced, busy restaurant that takes reservations and hasa waitlist.

Responsibilities| include but not limited :
-Followthe prep list created by chefs to plan duties
-Labeland stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easilyaccessible
-Preparerecipes according to recipe binder
-Measureingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
-Preparecooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
-Undertakebasic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.
-Preparesimple dishes such as salads, entrees etc.
-Maintaina clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking outtrash etc.
-Ensureall food and other items are stored properly
-Complywith nutrition and sanitation guidelines
-Performother kitchen duties as assigned
-Coveringcook shifts Skills : -Proven cooking experience, including experience as a linechef, restaurant cook or prep cook -Excellent understanding of various cookingmethods, ingredients, equipment and procedures -Accuracy and speed in executingassigned tasks -Familiar with industry’s best practices
-Able tofollow instructions/directions
-Knowledgeof health and safety rules in a kitchen
-Manualdexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
-A teamplayer with good communication skills
-Patientwith an ability to stay positive under pressure
-Verygood physical condition and endurance
-Highschool diploma or equivalent is desirable
-Trainingfrom a culinary school will be an asset
