About the Role: As a Food Service Utility Worker, you will perform essential support tasks that contribute to the overall operation of the kitchen. This role focuses on cleaning, organization, and basic food preparation, ensuring that our culinary team can deliver top-notch service without the primary responsibility of cooking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cleaning and Sanitation:
  • Wash worktables, walls, and food preparation surfaces.
  • Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain clean floors by sweeping and mopping regularly.
• Waste Management:
  • Remove trash and clean garbage cans to adhere to safety and sanitation standards.
• Supply and Equipment Management:
  • Transport supplies and equipment to and from storage areas.
  • Organize refrigerators, freezers, and other storage spaces to promote efficiency.
• Basic Food Preparation:
  • Wash, peel, and cut fruits and vegetables.
  • Assist cooks by preparing ingredients for cooking.
• Equipment Operation:
  • Operate manual or electric appliances for cleaning, peeling, slicing, and trimming foods.
• General Support:
  • Assist with setting up banquet tables and perform other supportive tasks as needed by the kitchen staff.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Entry-Level Position:
  • This is an entry-level role with training provided for all new hires.
• Physical Stamina:
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks efficiently.
• Attention to Detail:
  • Essential for maintaining cleanliness and following food safety guidelines.
• Teamwork:
  • A collaborative spirit and willingness to work effectively with fellow kitchen staff.
• Basic Kitchen Knowledge:
  • A foundational understanding of food safety and sanitation practices is beneficial.
