**Req Number** 168771 Job Description Protects and safeguards hospital property and personnel; maintains order; detects and prevents crime; operates hospital vehicles; and enforces the policies of the hospital. Conducts investigations of thefts, assault, etc. Picks -up and delivers valuables. Job Responsibility + * Performs required Security functions. + Protects hospital personnel, patients and visitors. + Conducts tours of buildings and grounds, checks all doors, windows, stairwells, corridors and gates, turns key or otherwise records visits at each watch-clock station to indicate rounds have been completed at specified intervals. + Enforces the rules and regulations pertaining to visitor control and protection of assets. + Prevents and reports all acts of a criminal nature occurring on hospital property. + Checks contents of packages. + Answers questions, gives directions, and controls excessive numbers of visitors on the floors. + Prepares report and related records of activities including gates opened and secured, detection of thefts and damaged property, opened offices and saves, unauthorized visitors, fire alarm answered, safety and fire hazards, etc.In the performance of these duties has frequent contact with Hospital employees and patients. + Checks and issues visitors' passes and checks employee ID badges. + Conducts investigations of thefts, assaults, etc. Interviews persons concerned and prepares investigation reports. + Uses knowledge of the fire alarm system and performs the fire duties required. + Prevents unauthorized parking.Keeps front of Hospital, delivery area and ambulance driveway clear of obstructions and cars. + Drives Hospital vehicle on emergency runs such as blood, equipment or medicine pick-ups, administrative runs to bank or post office.Picks up and delivers valuables. + Performs related duties, as required. *ADA Essential Functions Job Qualification + High School Diploma or equivalent, required. + New York State Driver's License. + Valid NYS Security Guard License, required.ORActive New York Police Officer, required. + Relate experience, preferred. *Additional Salary Detail The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
