Affiliated with  STARR Restaurants, Talula's Daily is equal parts all-day cafe and local market. Open every day from 8AM - 6PM, the market/cafe is serving as the culinary hub of Washington Square Park. Talula’s Daily satisfies everyday needs, occasional cravings and everything in between. A gathering space designed in the spirit of comfort and community, the Daily hums from morning to evening. House-made breads and pastries, La Colombe coffee, and a distinct selection of farmstead cheeses join creative salads, sandwiches and wholesome takeaway meals. Beverages served also include wines by the glass or bottle, draft beer, and local cider & kombucha.

The team  is seeking an enthusiastic Barista/Gourmet Market Staff ! If you are a true foodie with restaurant experience, the team would love to meet you! 

An ideal candidate will demonstrate professional demeanor, a great work ethic, a commitment to quality and attention to detail, a friendly, guest-first attitude, the ability to work well with a team and to communicate effectively, and a desire to learn.

Responsibilities:

• p repare coffee, espresso, and tea drinks;
• accurately input food and beverage orders;
• process payments through ALOHA POS system;
• execute proper payment handling and till management;
• maintain poise, even during periods of peak business volume;
• wrap/package food;
• package take-out and delivery orders;
• properly rotate perishable product using FIFO method;
• ensure all areas are stocked, clean, and organized throughout the shift
• assist other team members when needed;
• maintain organized work station throughout the shift;
• maintain cleanliness of bar area, marketplace, and restrooms;
• perform assigned opening and closing side work;
• immediately notify management of any guest complaint;
• adhere to health, sanitation, and safety standards, house policies, and best practices.

Qualified candidates will have:

• Flexible daytime and early evening availability
• Previous hospitality/industry experience
• Experience operating a semi-automatic espresso machine
• Responsible and timely, cash handling is involved
• Team player, self starter, willingness to take direction
• Multi-tasker, able to work in fast paced environment
• Entry level cheese and food knowledge
