Wound Care Nurse Practitioner (NP)

Salary and Benefits

• Compensation: $80 per patient encounter (mobile) or $100 per hour (clinic-based)
• Transitions to salaried position ($100,000 to $130,000 annually) once schedule exceeds 20–25 hours per week
• Part-time ramp-up period with transition to full-time in 3–4 weeks
• Paid mileage reimbursement
• 10 days of paid time off
• Health insurance: 50% employer-covered
• Short-term and long-term disability offered
• Benefits start after 60 days
• Credentialing assistance provided

Responsibilities

• Provide both in-clinic and mobile wound care services primarily in the Sarasota area
• Independently perform advanced wound care including debridement, application of grafts, wound vac therapy, and wound mist therapy
• Assess, diagnose, and treat various wound types including pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, and post-surgical wounds
• Order labs, imaging, and prescriptions as needed with physician oversight
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including a lead NP and clinical coordinator
• Maintain thorough, timely documentation and participate in quality assurance initiatives
• Deliver patient and caregiver education on wound care management and prevention

Requirements

• Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Florida
• Board certification (AANP or ANCC)
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on wound care experience; surgical or dermatologic experience a plus
• Wound care certification (WCC, CWCN, CWS) preferred but not required
• Must be clinically confident in advanced wound modalities and able to work independently
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel locally
• Must pass credentialing and background checks
