We are seeking an experienced Locums General Surgery Physician Assistant to join a high-volume, hospital-based surgical team in Novi, MI. This position offers an excellent work-life balance with no call or weekend requirements and the opportunity to work with cutting-edge robotic surgical technology.
Position Details
Shift Schedule:Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts
Typical hours: 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. (flexible start/end times)
40 hours per week
Call Requirements:None
Weekend Requirements:None
Practice Setting
Large hospital-based OR with more than 20 operating rooms
Facility equipped with 3 DaVinci robotic surgical systems
Collaborative surgical team performing GYN, urology, general surgery, and bariatric procedures
Responsibilities
Provide bedside first-assist support during robotic surgical cases
Perform port placement and closure of port sites
Assist occasionally in non-robotic surgical cases as needed
Handle patient discharges, document departures, and manage outpatient prescriptions
Qualifications
Certifications Required:
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
Licensure:Active Michigan Physician Assistant license
Experience:Minimum 2–3 years of robotic bedside first-assist experience, specifically in:
Gynecology (GYN)
Urology
General Surgery
Bariatrics
