Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day field construction activities for transmission and substation projects.
- Supervise construction of an electric switchyard and related infrastructure.
- Coordinate with EPC contractors, engineers, and field crews to ensure project alignment and compliance.
- Ensure proper installation of transformers, GIS (Gas-Insulated Switchgear), breakers, pole overhead systems, and related electrical equipment.
- Monitor construction progress, schedule adherence, and quality standards.
- Enforce site safety requirements and ensure proper use of PPE and company procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support for construction issues as they arise.
- Communicate project updates and risks to project leadership and stakeholders.
- Support project planning and execution from January 2026 through the 2-year project duration.
- Work collaboratively in a field-based environment at the Byron station.
Skills:
- Commercial construction management expertise (5+ years required).
- Strong knowledge of transmission & distribution systems.
- Experience with transformers, GIS switchgear, breakers, and overhead pole equipment.
- Proficiency in construction and installation practices for electrical equipment and substation components.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with EPC project execution processes.
- Desired experience working at nuclear or regulated utility sites.
- Strong oversight, inspection, and quality management skills.
- Proficient in project documentation, reporting, and coordination tools.
