Construction Apprentice & Winter Laborer Job Opportunities

Position : Apprentice Chimney Technician / Seasonal Winter Laborer
Location: Fairbanks North Star Borough, AK

Salary: $20 - $25 per hour, based on experience

We are a specialty construction company providing top-quality chimney services, including installations, inspections, cleaning, and repairs. As a growing company, we are looking to bring on an Apprentice Chimney Technician to learn and grow in the industry. If you have a strong work ethic and are eager to gain hands-on experience, this is the perfect opportunity to start your career with us. We’re also looking for a Seasonal Winter Laborer for the same role.

What You'll Do:

• Assist experienced technicians with chimney installations, cleanings, and repairs.
• Help with the removal of creosote and other debris from chimneys systems.
• Learn to identify potential issues with wood stoves, and chimneys of wood stoves, boilers, and forced air furnaces.
• Assist with the installation of full chimney systems, while learning the individual system components such as pipe, flashings, caps, liners, dampers and much more.
• Maintain and clean tools and equipment.
• Observe and adhere to all safety procedures and regulations.
• Develop technical skills under the guidance of experienced technicians.

What We're Looking For:

• No prior chimney experience necessary—just a willingness to learn.
• Experience or interest in construction is advantageous.
• Familiarity with power tools and their safe operation is a plus.
• Strong work ethic and desire to develop a career in the chimney industry.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Comfortable working at heights and in tight spaces.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials.
