McCarthy Building Companies is looking for skilled Apprentice Plumbers for our commercial projects.

McCarthy is looking for team members that have a proven commitment to safety and can be committed to a full-time schedule. The ideal candidate is local to Denver, CO.

Key Responsibilities

• Expand and demonstrate knowledge of building codes, specifications, submittals, and contract documents.
• Operate all required support equipment safely to achieve installation of systems: scissor lifts, forklift, ladders, torches.
• Develop general understanding of integrated project life cycle and key trade partners.
• Installation or assembly of trade specific material and equipment in the shop or jobsite.
• Develop keen eye for quality installation of systems and immediately report any substandard craftsmanship to lead.
• Assist with testing, inspecting, and recording for all rough-in installations as required by building codes and project specifications.
• Educate on lessons learned when and where appropriate.
• Understanding of work plan process and how to implement.
• Perform daily safety assessment of Tools, Cords, Equipment.

Qualifications

• Must have minimum 2 years’ experience in the plumbing trade and required to take a pre-employment plumbing exam
• Pay rate is determined on current level of knowledge and experience
• Basic understanding of plumbing materials and applications.
• Ability to gather materials and tools from lists generated by the supervisor
• Must have experience in copper, PVC, and cast-iron installations.
• Must have basic hand tools
• Must have reliable transportation to the job-site.
• Install fixtures and trim
• Install plumbing equipment such as water heaters, re-circulation pumps, sump pumps, etc
• Ability to set up and perform plumbing tests
• Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work well with others

In accordance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB19-085), we are including McCarthy’s good-faith and reasonable estimate of a range of entry level base compensation at the time of the posting.  This does not include possible bonus and other benefits which can impact total compensation. Given the dynamic nature of the large-scale commercial construction industry, a candidate’s project portfolio and background can change the role and compensation for which that candidate might be qualified.  The title and pay range for this role could change based on candidate qualifications and experience. Pay Range: $23-$31 per hour
