JICMS Classroom Teacher for the 2025-2026 School Year

• A JICMS Classroom Teacher is a champion for students.
• JICMS teachers work closely with their grade-level colleagues and administration to provide consistent, high-quality, challenging educational opportunities for each student.
• A JICMS teacher is a quick learner who chooses a positive, solutions-focused mindset. He or she will do what is best for students, even under the most difficult circumstances.
• A JICMS teacher is a professional who can work with many different personality types, and who speaks positively about and to staff, parents, and students.
• Every 6th grade classroom teacher is responsible for the education of the students in his or her class and communicates with parents and supports students.
• The JICMS teacher implements Direct Instruction throughout the entire school day and works closely with instructional coaches to implement training and continually improve in teaching effectively.
• The instruction and curriculum used is Shurley Grammar, Step Up To Writing and Saxon Math. The teacher will teach science, poetry, spelling and study skills as well.
• We have visitors regularly coming to JICMS to see how our school achieves such a high level of success for both students and staff.
• Because we have a broad demographic of students, our high academic achievement data is worth noting. Subsequently, we want to have staff that have a "mission calling" to work with our wide range of students.
• SALARY/BENEFITS:
• The starting teacher salary is $45,000 per year. Classroom teachers must have a Bachelor’s Degree and/or have completed the PRAXIS in Elementary Education (both 5205 and 5901). The starting salary for a teacher with a Master's Degree is $50,000.
• Classroom Teachers  receive full benefits . Our benefit package is excellent - truly - and provides health, dental, and limited vision benefits.
• There are 191 work days in the JICS working agreement. This extends from the end of July through May.
• Full-time employees are paid monthly in 12 equal amounts.
